Christmastime

Hard to believe all the holidays are over...and now we're just stuck with a couple more months of yucky winter! Here's some pics of our Christmas which, much to my mom's (but not my dad's) disappointment, was not white this year.

Decorating cookies on Christmas Eve...a new tradition.

We did manage to leave a couple for Santa. Although, since Santa is lactose intolerant, we left water with his cookies!

Coming down the stairs Christmas morning...

Torreys' favorite gift (from Granny). The scowl is b/c she absolutely hates her Christmas sweater...
5 minutes later...

Helping daddy put together the new garage for all his beloved cars!

You may have noticed the mullet is gone! Pics of that coming soon... And yes, Steve's beard is now gone too, yay!! :)

We are officially bad parents...

Just for the record...we weren't the only ones laughing at him!

October?

Okay, I'm not sure where October went...but I'm really behind on posting, so here's just a couple highlights from the month.
We went to a pumpkin patch with Aunt Karin and cousin Harmon. Colby had lots of fun wandering through the hay maze...
I...can...do...it...myself.
Dumbo posing in front of the HUGE pumpkin from Grandpa's garden! Note the one in front is from our garden, but looks like an orange next to that beast!
And yes, I realize Dumbo has a pink hat! Colby's original costume ended up being too small so we borrowed this one from a friend last minute. I still maintain that Dumbo is male.
We went to Uncle Mark's and went trick 'or treating with all the cousins. Colby had a blast and lasted quite a while until he got too hot in his costume. (It was in the 70s!) He got lots of good candy for me and Steve! Guess next year we'll have to share some with him...

Colorado Boy

Apparently Colby doesn't like the name we've chosen for him very much...because he's decided to change it. His name is Boy. That's how he's referred to himself for the past few weeks..."Boy throw" "Boy all done" "Boy ice more" It's really pretty funny...now...we're hoping he grows out of this stage before preschool though!

We spent last weekend in Colorado Springs. Steve had a couple hotel nights that were going to expire and it worked out perfectly, because our friends down there ended up having a party the same weekend.
Here's some pics from the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo...I love it MUCH more than our Denver zoo...

Here's "Boy" flaunting his beads at Molly's house.

On our last morning, we walked around downtown Manitou Springs. Steve has fond memories of the Penny Arcade, so we had to stop by there...although now it's the .25 - .75 arcade!

They have every kid's ride-on toy ever made, so Colby of course had to sit on every car and truck there. Thankfully he preferred them to not be moving!

Birthday Party

Colby decided he wanted a pool party...an inflatable pool party to be exact...for his 2nd birthday. (Okay, I decided...but he really has no clue what a birthday is, let alone what kind of party he wants for one!) It was about 50 degrees the day before, but thanks to the quick changing Colorado weather it was in the 70s the day of his party.

The kids (all 13 of them!) had lots of fun with the water toys & pools and the adults enjoyed the Qdoba bar. Mostly Steve enjoyed the Qdoba bar...I think he got cut off after going back for 7ths!

See, I WAS there!

Okay, you may have noticed I'm a little late in posting these! I have a good excuse though! The day after his party Steve and I flew to Vegas (many thanks to Grandma who extended her visit from Florida to watch Colby) since Steve had a work conference out there. I spent lots of time by the pool and caught up on a couple good books...just what I needed. I also managed to lose $150 in the slots while Steve worked. EEK! Not to worry though, we came out ahead as we managed to win the jackpot ($250) on Wheel of Fortune on our last spin while out one night! I'm now convinced the slots only pay out at night. :)
After getting back in town, Colby got the Croup and has been out of commission for about a week now. Hopefully we'll be able to get out and play soon! I guess I should count my blessings as this is the first real sickness (besides a little cold) he's ever had. Hopefully it's not the start of a new Croup trend though!

T-W-O!!!

Yesterday my little baby turned 2! Hard to believe it's been that long!!

Here he is on his "birth" day...

At 1 years old...
And yesterday, on his 2nd birthday! His party isn't for another week or so, but Steve convinced me he needed a little cake for his actual day (although he has no clue what it's for)!
Seems he watched his cousins do this a few times!
More please??!
Sniff, sniff...he'll be off to college any day now...
